I have an Ipod Video 80gb andwant to download videos, but I'm not sure what format I need to look for? Avi, mp4? Don't try to sell me a converter, I have one. What I want to do is download videos that can go straight onto my ipod without a converter? Which type of video do I need to download that can be loaded straight to my Ipod without a converter?

The Video Ipod supports the MP4 format videos. You can connect your Ipod to your computer, then put the files in the IPod. What I used to do, is to download videos from google (not the one that links you to youtube, but stays as google videos). On the right side, there is the download button, but you have to choose the download dropdown menu for a Ipod or video player. Then, Google will let you download the video IPod Format, MP4 Format

I know there is an ipod video 80gb 5.5 generation...but is there an ipod 80gb 5th generation? or are they the same thing?

No there isn't a iPod 80 GB 5th generation. There is a 60GB 5th generation iPod, and then they re-released the iPod (same generation hence 5.5, but just better battery life and clearer screen, and also a slightly larger hard drive.

I'm looking to buy an new Ipod that stores video. I already know what shows i want to get, but I just need to know how many hours of video both the 80GB and the 30GB can hold so I can choose from there.

well you really dont have to reach the limit of what it says. you caan have all the videos you want . like 30gb says 100 hours of video and 7500 of music you can use ALL the memory for videos only

How many playlist can be created for Ipod Video 80gb?

I want to create a playlist for every genre and some favorite artists. Is there a limit on the number of playlists that you create?

As far as I know, there is not. I have the 5th gen Video and I've got 66 playlists.

Keep in mind that all you really need for the genre one is to go to Music > Genre (but you could still make a playlist if you really want it).

As long as you want, it just depends on the size of the file.

So basicly you can run a 80 gig video. But it would hold up all your space.

Classic

PROS: Sleek, anodized aluminum finish (harder to scratch). Extended Battery life and smooth menu navigation.
CONS: more of a volume cap limit and lags with large amounts of music i.e. full.

Video

PROS: Better sound quality (supposedly), can be hacked to do all sorts of cool stuff.
CONS: usual polycarbonate finish and an older generation model.

I have both and they both do the job.
Classic has a slight advantage with the longer battery life (more movies to watch =] )

My dad told me he's going to get my the new iPhone when it comes out this summer, but I told him I want to get a new iPod video 80GB. Which has a bigger hard drive/memory? The iPhone or the Video iPod? I mean, think about it. Why spend $500.00 on a new phone when you can get a Video iPod for about $200 bucks less with your current phone?

I have an original 80GB ipod video in almost perfect condition. It does have songs on it and just a couple of minor scratches. Where can i find the value or do you know the value

i would say its worth about 75 dollars i know they were worth 50 used but it might be more becuase they arent being made anymore

A word of advice: Make sure you know what extra "bonuses" your repair technician will require before he arrives - or watch him like a hawk!
