Ipod, 80GB?

I have an Ipod. the 80GB, 5th generation model. i tried to put a podcast on it and it said that this type of ipod didnt play those kind of podcast. video podcast? why? and what can i do about it?

Well, the iPod video (your 80GB model) - should be able to play video.

So, the only thing I can think of would be that the video podcast that you're trying to view isn't compatible with iPods.

You can check for podcasts (and video podcasts) through iTunes - and those should be compatible.

As for the video podcast that you wanted to listen/watch - I'd suggest going back to the website and see if they have an iPod version - or shoot an email to the people who do the video podcast and ask for their suggestions/help.

Good luck to you.

what format is the podcast in?

if it's video, it needs to be in .mp4, .mov, or .m4v format. if it isn't, then convert it to one of those three.

or if it's audio, it needs to be in .m4a (aac), .wav, or .mp3 format.

How much could I expect to get back for my 80GB IPod Classic?

When i bought my current iPod I thought that i would fill up 80GB with all of my iTunes, but I was sadly mistaken. As this is so, i decided to trade in my iPod 80Gb and put the money towards a 32GB iTouch. How much could i expect to get reasonably for my 80GB?

This site is good for estimates:

You really thought you had that many songs? I prefer to have a little extra to grow, You could also add games. Check out E-bay to get an idea of the going price.

Should I get an Ipod Classic 80gb or a Sony PSP? What is the storage capacity of a PSP?

The ipod 80gb has 100 hours of movies and up to 20,000 songs but the psp has a bigger screen and you can play games. The ipod is $317 and the PSP $288(au). I'm looking for something with high quality video with heaps of space, and good quality sound.

It is according to what you want to do?

If you intend to play games then PSP it is?

If it is more of a listening / viewing situation then iPod 80 GB is it.

Realize that videos or music you have to put on the device by paying for them or obtaining them from your collection and converting them (if copyright issues are not a problem).

The PSP space is dependent upon the memory card you purchase.

Most of the memory cards for PSP are in the denominations of 1, 2, 4, and 8 GB. I not sure what is available above that. I kind of doubt they have one that is 80 GB. If it is then it is quite expensive.

So, if your intent it to have a lot of space and you are not so much into the gaming then get the iPod.

If you want the games and you are willing to sacrifice the larger hard drive for media then go for the PSP.

I have listened to music & movies on both the sound quality is good. In particular the iPod can be quite loud depending on the quality of the digital sound file.

Their is also an option of a Zune (30 GB) which is basically like the iPod but larger with a few differences such as the software it uses and physical dimensions of the player, has radio, does not play games (new ones coming out does the games), can functional wirelessly.

Hey,

Well ask yourself this: Do you want to play games?

If you do then go for a PSP but if not go for the iPod.

The PSP has much better quality screen but the iPod has better sound quality.

All the best

BabyGal

:)

P.S i have both of these so pls email me if you have any questions about either of them =]

I have both. The PSP has as much storage as you can get on a memory card. You can't save anything on it without a card. The IPod has the space it comes with and there is no way to obtain more. Both are great. It all depends if you want to play games or not. Games cost extra and so do movies if you get the PSP.

i have a psp and an ipod nano. i use my ipod all the time, but i rarely use my psp. one reason is that games are so expensive. But on the PSP you can get on the internet from a wireless connection and save pictures to your memory card. memory cards are $30 used for the smallest storage and can go up to $100 for the largest storage (sorry i forgot what the storage on the memory cards were). the ipod is cool but you have to pay for your songs (.99 a song). you can find websites like limewire and bearshare and download free music, but they have viruses and kill the hardrive on your computer. if you get a psp you can only put songs on it from a disk, not straight from itunes. overall i would go for the ipod since you can have music and videos. Hope this helps.

Well, as said before it depends what you really want, however, I never really use things such as PSP's or Phones as my MP3's, I don't really know why.

I have a PSP and it is quite large so not really for taking around in your pocket but is great for trips, car journeys and at home. I don't really use my PSP any more but it can be very good.

The iPod Classic holds more but only plays music and video. Also the screen is very small so isn't great to watch much on.

I possibly have the perfect soloution, you may think I am crazy but the iPod Touch sounds like a great compromise. It has all the features of the Classic and more with a touch screen, full internet, youtube, mail, maps and a good screen for videos, not much smaller than the PSP but is very portable. You can get 32GB or 16GB versions which are plenty as long as you aren't putting loads of movies on and even then you can just change the movies on every time you go out because you aren't going to watch 20 movies before the battery runs out anyway.

Not only is it a good screen size like the PSP, and iPod like the Classic and very portable. From early next month there is going to be a new version released called 2.0. It involves lots of new features but mainly something called the "App store" it is a application that allows you to go on the iPod and download apps from games to calenders and news pages. Best of all most of them will be free which gives you loads of games like on the PSP but for free. Also if you want better quality games you can purchase them in the app store, it looks like the best ones will be a maximum of $9.99 which is alot cheaper than a PSP game. Developers include EA and sega with Spore and Super Monkey Ball already confirmed.

The iPod Touch is a great gadget and is fun to play on like the PSP, slim and affordable. Heck you could even get the new 3G iPhone released in a few weeks.

If you need any more information just message me.

How do i remove pictures from my Video Ipod 80gb & How do i add an album cover?

I got a video ipod in black an 80GB one as a gift and i accidently added photos that i didnt want on it and now i dont know how to remove them all... and also how do i add an album cover to the ipod?! please help... thanks much =D

And concurrently, it's also a computer to iPod transfer tool which can transfer iPod music, videos and photos from PC to iPod.

Insert Ipod using USB connecting cord and enter the Ipod option in Itunes. Click the tab called "Photos" and this is where you will have all the control of what goes on your Ipod and what you want to take off.
Hit "Sync" on the bottom of the page to save the new progress on your Ipod and it will finish saving in about 5-10 seconds.

if you use itunes, all you have to do is, when you plug your ipod in, go to photos on the screen. unsync the ones you don't want.
for album artwork, download it onto the song first, then readd the song to your ipod if its not synced.

What is the best case for an ipod 80gb video?

I am thinking about getting an 80gb ipod video but with the concern of how easily it scratches, i'm not sure. I just need to know what the best case for it is that protects it, but doesn't get in the way.

thanks

What format video to download straight to Video Ipod (80gb)?

I have an Ipod Video 80gb andwant to download videos, but I'm not sure what format I need to look for? Avi, mp4? Don't try to sell me a converter, I have one. What I want to do is download videos that can go straight onto my ipod without a converter? Which type of video do I need to download that can be loaded straight to my Ipod without a converter?

The Video Ipod supports the MP4 format videos. You can connect your Ipod to your computer, then put the files in the IPod. What I used to do, is to download videos from google (not the one that links you to youtube, but stays as google videos). On the right side, there is the download button, but you have to choose the download dropdown menu for a Ipod or video player. Then, Google will let you download the video IPod Format, MP4 Format

~~Good Luck~~

What is the best alternative to the 80gb IPod Classic and why?

Im looking for a large capacity mp3/video player to take travelling.

Around 80gb will be sufficient.

What is the best option other than the 80gb Ipod?

I'm an iPod person, and Obviously I will recommend an iPod. But go out & try out other players if you wish. Though I find it tough to beat an 80gb iPod classic for $249 & a battery life of up to 40 hours. You can circle the globe twice & still have some juice left.

Plus the entire iPod line has the biggest amount of accessories available out of all Music Players in market.

You can try a Zune, which I've heard has better sound but I've heard the Music Store is Awkward to use & there's not as many accessories available for it if you every want to spice it up & make more use out of it. & the Battery life doesn't compare to what iPod Classic gets.

I don't follow the words of those who say that iPods have poor sound quality. It's sounds fine to me & even better when you use a Good Set of headphones like those that silent sound like Bose ( Thats if you do a lot of air travel)

It's entirely your call.

Is there an ipod video 80gb 5th generation?

I know there is an ipod video 80gb 5.5 generation...but is there an ipod 80gb 5th generation? or are they the same thing?

No there isn't a iPod 80 GB 5th generation. There is a 60GB 5th generation iPod, and then they re-released the iPod (same generation hence 5.5, but just better battery life and clearer screen, and also a slightly larger hard drive.

What is a good spare battery for the 80gb iPod Classic?

I'm about to take a long trip that will last 18+ hours. With so many spare batteries out there, which one is really good? Which one lasts a long time. It will be used for the 80gb iPod Classic.

Letter: Watch 'em like a hawk Amarillo.com
The week before Christmas, we needed a technician to fix some faulty equipment.

Before the technician arrived, we checked to be sure the equipment was accessible and nothing would be in his way. We had our 80GB iPod video "docked" in its speaker system in the cubicle next to the one where he would be working and decided it would not be in his way so we left it there. He was in our home about three hours. The technician finished his "work" and left a little after 5 p.m. Imagine our surprise when we discovered that our iPod was gone.

He had cleverly placed a book in front of the dock to make his theft less noticeable.

After calling the company he worked for and filing a police report, we were told it was our word against his, as he had denied the theft.

Well, duh!

The technician's employer compensated by giving us ... nothing. The sheriff's department told us we could file a personal complaint with small claims court. During the "investigation," we discovered that the person was on parole for a separate conviction.

End of investigation.

A word of advice: Make sure you know what extra "bonuses" your repair technician will require before he arrives - or watch him like a hawk!
