vehicle parked in the 2200 block of Elm Street S.W. The items were
valued together at $2,400.

The incident was reported Sunday afternoon.
Shoot the burglar — A man in the 2200 block of Elm
Street S.W. told police Sunday afternoon he intended to shoot
whoever stole a generator from his front porch. He told police he
was going to set tools as bait in the back of his truck to entice
the burglar back and then shoot the person with his 30-06
rifle.
Police counseled the man, who decided he did not want someone else
raising his kids while he “served time for murder.”
Shoplifting — Layla Sky Ward, 35, of Albany was
charged with third-degree robbery and second-degree theft Sunday
afternoon after being caught with $337 worth of merchandise from
Fred Meyer that she did not pay for. The items included clothing,
cosmetics and a car seat.
She also had seven outstanding warrants and was taken to the Linn
County Jail. She was expected to appear today in Linn County
Circuit Court.
Lost items — An employee at Quiznos, 2250 14th
Ave. S.E., found a fanny pack about 8:45 p.m. Sunday that contained

and a firearm. Turns out the sergeant no longer worked for the
sheriff’s office.

boxes had been opened and the contents taken in the Sodaville area

envelope by a member of Neighborhood Watch, a man said he had been
expecting a check for about $7,500 from the company.
Trailer taken — A homemade trailer that cannot be
towed was reported stolen about 5:30 p.m. Sunday from where it was
