Ipod Nano?

Oky, so i am about to sell my mp3 player and get a ipod instead. But i can't decide whether to buy the ipod nano 2nd generation or the ipod nano 3rd generation. i've heard that the 3rd generation is wide and feels awkward in the hand. But then again i've heard the price of the ipod nano 2nd is more expensive than the 3rd generation. Which one should i get? I have about 1300 songs and im not planning on stopping there. I dont care for videos, im just using it for music. I like the big screen on the 3rd generation but i like the way the 2nd one feels in the hand.

I just bought a 3rd gen nano to replace my older nano and greatly prefer the new one over the old. The 3rd generation nano is even smaller than it looks in the ads. I would try going to stores and trying out each one if you are worried it will feel too awkward. The new nano has a larger, brighter, and sharper screen. The new cover flow feature is also a plus. So I would recommend that you get the 3rd generation, but in the end its all up to what you like the most.

In my opinion, you should get the third generation. they have the same amount of memory and they really dont feel much different. actually, the third feels a bit better because there is more room for your hand to reach around. the "shorty" model still fits in small areas and it can show video (just in case you feel at some point you want a movie or show or something). also, the second generations bugs are fixed in the shorty's.

Can you connect ipod nano screen to an ipod video with a broken screen?

The screen on my ipod video broke, and I have an ipod nano with no funcionality but the screen does work. So I want to know if i can connect the ipod nano screen to the 30 gig ipod.

Does anyone know if this is possible before I disasemble my video?

I don't think that you can, plus, the nano's screen is smaller, so you would end up with exposed electronics, and the new screen would be very unstable, if it even worked at all.

If you want to break it, then go ahead.

get em fixed here for real cheap!!!!

What's the difference between the ipod video nano and the ipod nano chromatic?

i just traded my old video nano for the new ipod chromatic.
what exactly does the ipod chrom. do (that's different from the video nano)?

They both play video.

The new (chromatic) nano comes in 8 and 16gb models, instead of 4 and 8.

And they have introduced new colours, and a few new features, such as the shake-to-shuffle and the accelerometer for coverflow.

And it is thinner than any other iPod before it.

Well besides the obvious difference of the size and shape.
It has an accelerometer which lets you watch videos and look at pictures in landscape view for a wider screen. It also lets you shake the nano to shuffle a song.

It also has the genius option for making song playlists on the go.

Those are just the first that come to mind for me.

There are three main things. They are slightly smaller, like width wise.

I don't understand, because it is only slightly.

The chromatic comes in a bunch of cool colors! =]

And they have better memory, like 8 and 16 and 32 instead of 2 and 4 and 8.

What materials are the ipod nano made of? Is the material different than the ipod video?

What materials are the ipod nano made of (like plastic, metal, etc.)? Is the material different than the ipod video?

The current line of iPod nanos?

I believe they are made of the same thing the iPod videos are made from - the anodized aluminum.

The back is made of a shiny aluminum.

It's not plastic. It's metal. No, the material isnt different than the iPod Video.

no both of the ipods nano and video is made of the same material

What is the oldest generation of ipod nano that can be used in the 2009 Honda Civic?

I would like to purchase a used ipod nano to keep in my car so I don't have to keep taking my itouch in and out of the car. Any one know what's the oldest nano that can be used using the factory installed connection? I'm only interested in a nano and I don't need any accessories to connect the ipod to the car. Thanks!

All ipods will work fine (except the shuffle) if your using the USB connection in the armrest. If your using the 3.5 mm jack below the volume control, all ipods will work.

Is your connection a dock or just a spindle type speaker wire plug?
If it is the speaker wire plug, they should all work.

How does the accelerometer work on the ipod nano 4g?

I am thinking about getting the new ipod nano to replace my year and a half year old ipod video 5g. I was wondering, first of all, how the battery life is on the new nano, because that will be one of the major reasons that i am switching. I am also wondering if the accelerometer messes up while you are running with the ipod. Will it like shuffle if it is bouncing up and down while you are running, or if its is shuffling around in your pocket?

The New nano 4g has New , More Extraordinary Features.
It Sounds Better Than All Other iPods (My Friend Has One And it Sounds Better Than The iPod nano(2,3g) , classic (4,5(yours)6g).
Don't Worry , The Accelerometer For The Shake To Shuffle Can Be Turned off In the iPod Settings ---- Shake To Shuffle ----- (Press) to Activate it (on/off) or You can Switch the hold button so nothing will accidentally happen!
I'm Thinking of Buying an iPod Nano 4g - to replaces my 1 year iPod Nano 3g (Video).
I Hope This Guide Will Help You!

How do you get songs from your ipod nano to the library?

I have songs on my ipod that was on my old computer. The computer broke down and I have the ipod in my new computer. How do you get songs from your ipod to display to your library? ( I have an ipod nano that I brought in 2006)

Transferring iTunes Music (make sure that your iTunes is set to "manually manage music")

Method #1:
Download iDump or any other similar software from download.com (for free).

(The following steps are tailored for Windows XP. It will work for Vista as well but the steps may be slightly different. Also, this method does not require third party software or an internet connection. This method will transfer ALL songs from iPod to computer. Use Method #1 to transfer specific songs.)

Method #2:
>Connect iPod to computer.
>”Start.”
>”My Computer.”
>Double Click iPod icon.
>”Tools.”
>”Folder Options.”
>”View.”
>Select “Show Hidden Files & Folders” and click “OK.”
>Right click “iPod Control” folder.
>Select “Properties.”
>Unselect “Hidden” and click “OK.”
>A window will pop up. Select “Apply changes to this folder, subfolder and files” and click “OK.”
>Double click “iPod Control" folder.
>Double click “Music" folder.
>You will notice folders labeled “F00, F01, F02, F03, F04, etc.”
>Open up iTunes side by side with this window. Make sure that the “Music Library” is displayed and make sure that iPod/iTunes is set to "manually manage music."
>In iTunes select “Edit>Preferences>Advanced>and make sure that ‘Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized’ and ‘Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to Library’ are checked and click ‘OK.’” You should also make sure that your iPod/iTunes is set to “Manually Manage Songs” so that you have control over what you want to add or delete (to do this select the iPod icon under “Devices” on the left column of the screen and select “Manually Manage Music” under “Options.”).
>Drag all of the yellow folders (not the Read Me files) directly into iTunes “Music Library.” I’m talking about the part that has song name, artist, track number, etc.
>Done.

How can I erase podcasts from my Ipod nano?

I can't sync because Ipod is full (which would be one way to get rid of old podcasts). Strangely, unlike songs and audiobooks, my podcasts aren't listed under my nano when looking at it on Itunes. If I could just find the podcasts, I could erase them. But I can't find where they are listed. Any help?

I erased them from the playlist where I originally put the podcasts, but that doesn't erase them from the Nano. I know they are still on there because the Ipod is still full.
Edited to add:

There's no folder for Podcasts (like there are for Music and Audiobooks.) If I could just find the podcast, I could erase them, but they aren't visible under my Nano on Itunes. Nor can I find them when scrolling through my Nano.
No, there's no folder for Podcasts on the sidebar. There is for Music and Audiobooks, but not for Podcasts. Strange, huh?
I have a PC

Well if you sync your ipod automatically instead of manually, all you should have to do is go to the podcast tab when you click on your ipod in itunes and uncheck the sync podcasts button. If you manually manage your music then go to the podcast folder on your ipod and in your library and remove the undesired podcasts. If that still doesn't work, try resetting your ipod (hold down select button and menu button for about 3 seconds) after you have deleted the podcasts. Hope that helps. Good luck

Well have you tried resetting your ipod? This may fix your problem. You do not have a podcast section on the sidebar? DO YOU HAVE A MAC OR A PC?

Well that's the main source of your problem. Get rid of the PC. I haven't used itunes on a PC in a while so i'm not positive. But you could maybe fix this problem by finding your itunes music folder and opening it and there should be a folder along with all of your artists called "podcasts". You might even be able to get into your ipod control if you enable disc use and find the podcasts in there somewhere. Good luck

Can I exchange my ipod nano for the newer ipod?

Not realizing that a new ipod was coming out, I got the ipod nano a week before the ipod nano came out. I bought it less that a month ago and haven't used it or put music on it, I've only charged it. Can I bring it back for in store credit (I bought it from the Apple store)? Also, it is the product red, will they let me exchange it? Thanks!

UrbanTool icaseBelt Review The Gadgeteer

Looking from the front, the left side (the wearer’s right side) has a controller for iPod with fast forward, play/pause, previous/review, and volume up/down buttons. These controls are connected to a standard iPod cable that is sewn into the pocket next to the controller. My iPhone 3G fit into the pocket easily without being attached to the controller connector. With that connector, it could be placed in the pocket, but it was a little more of a challenge. But it would fit, and the controller worked as expected. The problem came when I tried to attach earbuds to the iPhone. There is not enough room to place the controller and a standard earbud plug on the iPhone and insert it into the case. I even tried finessing it into the case and plugging in the cables afterward by working through the fabric, but the dimensions of the case are just too small. I really wanted this to work. There’s even a small zippered pocket on the back just behind the iPod pocket, perfectly sized for a set of earbuds.

The materials are of really good quality. The leather over the iPod controls is smooth, with the functions subtly hot-stamped onto a nylon patch below them. The pockets are made of a stretchy, jersey knit nylon that feels like silk, but easly stretches over whatever is being inserted, yet snaps back into place. The seams are all tight and heavily reinforced.  I don’t think anything on this belt pack would wear out or fray with normal use.

That being said, normal use is tough to do, since the placement of the pockets’ features are so irritating, as mentioned above. I wanted to test this with my iPhone, but can’t have music playing from my waist without earbuds – it’s not a good listening experience, and irritates those around you. And the keys aren’t accessable stuffed back on the other side of my card file.

So, for materials and workmanship, I give it five stars. For design and useability, however, I give it one star. Over all, that’s three stars, but if you’ve got an iPod Nano and a phone to put in the other pocket, it may work better for you.

Skirting the issue: Ruffled, draped, frilled or layered....micro-minis are big ... Daily Mail

One of the most quoted rules of fashion is that if you wore a trend first time around, you should avoid it when it pops up again.

The one exception has to be the micro-mini, which seems to come around more frequently than a council tax demand.

The truth is, the ability to look good in a skirt the size of an iPod Nano has nothing to do with age and everything to do with whether your thighs can withstand the scrutiny.

Assuming they can, you might be pleased to know that there is an interesting new twist to the mini this season.

It's the illusion of double layers, or exposed underskirt, as devised by Prada, Louis Vuitton and also Phoebe Philo for Celine, where short A-line skirts were worn with an inch or so of visible white under layer.

(The very creative could, of course, save themselves the expense of the new look by just wearing two minis, one over the other.)

In addition to the sharply cut A-line style, ruffled, draped or frilled minis are also big for spring – and, chosen carefully, can hide a multitude of sins.

Topshop's bubble tier skirt, 32, comes in pale, flesh pink – one of the season's key colours, while Warehouse has a grey, office-friendly skirt with pleated pockets, 30.

And, happily for most of us, the skirts currently arriving in the shops are not quite as micro as those shown on the catwalks.
