Where can I get a headphone extender chord with a splitter on the end for my kids new portable dvd player?

I got my kids a portable dvd player for in our van for long trips, but it only has one outlet for headphones. I know that there are extenders and splitters, but do they make an extender with a splitter on the end, and if they do, where can I purchase one? Thanks.

Any electronics store should have something, but here is what I found online:

How do I get a new charger for my acoustic solutions portable DVD player?

I recently lost the charger for my DVD player, and the in-car charger broke, so now there's no way for me to use it. Does anyone know how I could get a new one, its acoustic solutions and 7" I think. I tried the website, but for some reason it wasn't working.

PJ's answer is Ok if you know electronics.

But judging by the fact that you asked the question, I'm guessing you don't know electronics. So here's the rest of the answer PJ left out:

Take your DVD player (and any user manual you might have for it) to Radio Shack. Tell them you need a new charger module. They should be able to match up your DVD to one of their off-the-shelf generic modules. They may even be able to supply you with one that will work off the car cigarette lighter as well.

You need to bring in the DVD player so that they can match the connector. You need the manual so they know what voltage\current rating the module should supply.

On the DVD player it should say which power you need. It should say what voltage it is and how many amps it requires ie. 9v 2.5amps then you type in what you need on ebay and someone is most likely selling one. You may need to buy and adaptor for the end if the power supply you buy has a different shaped end. This will be cheaper than buying a branded replacement.

Is it worth repairing DVD portable player?

I have a portable DVD player the read bad disk. I used different kinds of dvd and still the same problem. My question is it worth repairing or just get a new one? Or where is a place that doesn't charge as much?

Considering portable players are selling well under $100 now, I would think the old one is probably not worth repairing.

Can you help me choose a good portable DVD player?

I am looking to buy a portable DVD player for a long car ride. I am looking at the portable players that have two screens. I saw one at Sam's Club. You can use it so two people can watch the same movie on two screens, or each TV can be used separately.
I might just end up getting two separate units, one for each child. I have owned an Audiovox portable DVD player in the past, and it broke a few months later. Are there any other good brands out there? Do anyone of you have experience with the two screen type? Thank you!

What does the port called "digital out" on my portable DVD player do?

Hi,

My question is what does the port called "Digital Out" do on my Venturer PVS1080G Portable DVD Player? The port is located in the back of the portable player. It is all black. Does it allow me to send out video that is currently playing in my portable player to another unit? If so, what kind of wire do I need to do it?

Thank you for your time.

That would be for your audio feed, If you have a suround system with digital sound inputs.
The cable you need would be found at wal-mart and it will be a single cable with a clear tip on it. it reads the signal through a light beam and say on the package that it is for digital audio

S Korea's LG Electronics to release mobile digital TV player Xinhua

SEOUL, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's LG Electronics Tuesday unveiled a new line of portable DVD players and cell phones with high-definition, digital TV capabilities aimed at tapping the United States mobile TV market.

The new devices, set to be released next year, will allow users to watch digital TV programs in vehicles running as fast as 290 km per hour, with the portable DVD player being the world's first commercial product with such features, LG said in a press release.

The release added the new products will be first showcased at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas from Jan. 7 to Jan.10.

LG said that it plans to release the mobile DVD player in the first half of next year and commercialize the new cell phone device as soon as possible in order to lock-in itself as a market leader in the United States mobile TV industry.

"These products will let LG lead the United States mobile TV market through advanced technology and product differentiation," Baek Woo-hyun, Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of LG Electronics, said in a statement.

LG DP570MH Mobile DTV device likely to sport $249 price tag DeviceMAG
It may be recalled that LG had very recently let out a preview of the device in the form of a teaser. The company has now come out with more details. As per the info we came across, the DP570MH acts and performs much akin to a portable DVD player. Movies, which come alive on the 480×234 display, make the device a shopper’s dream. It LG has incorporated a tuner for the new mobile digital TV standard to pick up live TV. This is possible even when traveling at speeds, which by normal standards could prove a hindrance when it comes to picking up regular digital TV signals.

Looking for details on the pricing, we found that the company is most likely to attach a $249 price tag to the device. However, we are yet to know on when the launch would happen.

LG’s new DP570MH Mobile DTV device can also load JPEG photos and WMA audio when an USB port is plugged in. From what we understand, LG’s new device would initially only be able to play live broadcasts for about 2.5 hours when on battery power. If you are playing a DVD, the battery life might go on up to 4.5 hours. In case that worries you, the company is also providing along with the device a power adapter plus a car-friendly charger so that you can recharge the device while on the go.

Overnight ride takes Missouri band to Texas Bowl Columbia Missourian

Radcliff began his trip by watching “The Hangover,” and “Star Trek,” the two movies that were played on his bus. Marching Mizzou brought six buses of people and a truck with equipment to Houston. After the movies, Knight said much of the band sleeps.

But Radcliff said he is particular about his sleep. He usually needs to have a fan running and can’t sleep on a bus unless he is extremely tired. So he turned to his portable DVD player, watching four John Wayne movies. After the four movies, his DVD player's batteries failed. He finally fell asleep at about 7:30 a.m., sleeping for about two hours before the group arrived in Houston.

Fellow freshman saxophone player Ryan DeLeon took a different approach. He and other members of the band threw blankets over seats to create makeshift “forts,” for sleeping.

“Greatest idea,” he said. “Kept the back real warm.”

He said he managed to get about four hours of sleep and learned some do’s and don’ts about sleeping on a bus.

“I figured out that the floor of a bus gets really cold,” he said. “Really cold, I don’t know why, it’s just the floor. And it’s the only place you can really sprawl out and not worry. But since we were kind of back by the bathroom, you kind of had people wake you up on accident. Because they’re trying to get in, they’ll get you or something.”

The band’s schedule was busy once it arrived in Houston. It had an afternoon rehearsal at Rice University with Navy’s band and an evening pizza party at its hotel. Although coming to the Texas Bowl involved a tight travel schedule, Radcliff said it was worth the trip.

“This place is awesome,” he said, standing in the lobby of the band’s hotel. “So I’m excited about that. And we get a T-shirt out here, so I’m pretty excited about my free T-shirt.”

Jane Monaghan, a freshman baritone player, agreed with Radcliff.

“Just to be able to hang out with everybody, it’s a good way to break up the long winter break that we have,” she said. “A lot of people live out of town, so I don’t really get to see everybody. I don’t know, it’s just a lot of fun. And plus, we get to see the game.”

Knight said the band’s plan is to leave Houston almost immediately after today’s game and arrive in Columbia around lunchtime on Friday.
