Can anyone tell me how many watts a Rockford Fosgate Punch 120a amp puts out? There is no sticker on the bottom of the amp to tell me anymore. Plus, I cannot find anything online. Does anyone happen to know how many watts it puts out? And, tell me if the wattage output is good, fair or poor? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Do you mean the "120.2"? Because it's 30 watts per channel at 4 Ohms, or 60 @ 2 Ohms.

Just made the order for around $150 through CarDomain. I currently have a pretty old Kenwood amp that I'm hoping to replace with this to my JL 12w0 sub. How is this Rockford amp?
My boyfriend is a car audio installer and he said that the P23 is not a good amp for what u are trying to do he said go with the Alpine V12 class D ( more money but bigger bang)...Hope this helps...Good Luck...:-)
He also said and a nice set of componet speakers for your highs..

If your talking about the older punch 100 series like the dsm/trans ana circuitry models(1992-1997 models) Then yes,its a good match....If you mean the newer models 2000 and up....then no....not enough power. It would sound ok,just not very loud.

Is a 1.5 ohm load too much for a Rockford Fosgate Punch 401s amp?
...
Feb 28, 2007 by guysmiley98465 | Posted in Car Audio
I am running 2 JL audio 10W7's off of a RF Punch 401s amp. The amp is 2 ohm stable and I have the subs wired in parallel for a 1.5 ohm load. The subs are 3 ohms each so if I run them in a series it becomes a 6 ohm load which I dont want. Is this half-ohm likely to cause any trouble? The majority of amps out there are only stable up to 2 ohms which will likely limit my selection when I upgade in a few months or so. The entire system is wired with 4 gauge wire and supported by a 1 farad cap so I am positive the amp is recieving good voltage. Any thoughts?
yes it is to low for the amplifier it will play but it will get hot and when the volume is loud the speaker protection on the amplifier will kick in by cutting your output to half for a few seconds or the amplifier will go on protection after a couple of minutes

Lowering the load on that amplifier will make it run very hot, these subs were created to run in sets of three for this reason. Running a set of these should get you to 3 OHMS with the right wiring setup. Perhaps you should purchase a set that will yield you 2 OHMS.

wiring a 2 chnl amp into a bridged 1 mono amp? its an older rockford punch 250, its 250 rms per chanl?

the sub is a rockford punch stage 3 4ohm dual vc 250 rms each coil, whats the best way to wire it up? the amp is from 1994 -96
punch 250m is a mono block 2 ohms about 500watts amplifier is all black
there is a later version of the 250 black and silver only 125watts per channel 4 ohms mono
conejote_99 | Aug 13, 2007
Most subs power rating is for both coils together and are never rated per coil.
The amp MUST be 2 ohm stable when wiring the sub like so - http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/sparky3489/SINGLE-PARALLEL.jpg

Old-school RF amps can be bridged to 2ohms with no problems. I've actually heard of people running them 1/4ohm stereo (that's the same as 1/2ohm bridged).
Wire the sub to the bridged amp like so:

Would a 2400 watt rockford fosgate punch amp run 2 15" L7's?
...
Mar 31, 2008 by money_bags_91 | Posted in Car Audio
Well, you need to look more closely at the ratings on the rockford 2400. It really doesnt do 2400 watts. That is just a rating they use to attract buyers. The RMS ratings is what counts here. Most likely it isnt more than 800w total. If you can look at the RMS specs, it wil give you a better reference to how good it will pus these subs. My guess is that I will Work, but Not power them efficiently!

i have 21000 watt cvr 15's dvc 4 ohm subs and a rockford p8002 punch amp?
...
Apr 28, 2008 by ramondo w | Posted in Car Audio
which is a better amp. a rockford p8002 amp with 400 rms at 2 ohm load and 200 watts at 4 ohm load or a ma audio 2 ohm stable 1000.1 d class mono amp with a 1000.1 rms at 2 ohm load and 500.1 rms at 4 ohm load remember i have cvr 15's with dvc 4 ohm subs can i use both amps
Yeah and chances are that when you wire the Punch amp to 800 rms @ 4ohms you're probably getting more than that because, its a Rockford amp. The MA Audio amp you describe and the P8002 amp aren't even in the same league.
