Is the Power Acoustik SL-3400D too strong of an amp for the 60 pound Rockford Fosgate Power T212D4?

Is the Power Acoustik SL-3400D too strong of an amp for the 60 pound Rockford Fosgate Power T212D4?

Some things to know http://spkrbox1.spaces.live.com

If its a t2d4 then yes, because u cannot run it @ 4 ohms and i wouldnt put 2k rms on that thing....dont get me wrong, the t2 is a very powerful woofer but i wouldnt put double the rms on it thats a bit 2 much....a t2 d2 would work fine tho...Im also guessing that power acoustik doesnt quite put out its rms anyhow....

Oh yeah! That is wayyy too much power for that sub! If you were talking 2 of the t2's you'd be good to go and you'd be supplying either 2600at 1 ohm or 1400 at 4 ohms...2100 for that sub is way too much! Do you already have the sub and amp or one and not the other? I'd go with a smaller amp but keep in mind the power acoustik amps that I've hooked up are nice amps but I really doubt they put out the power that they state. At a 2 ohm load I'd hook it up to say a 1400 watt rms any day just because they are overrated. But that is my take on it. Don't get me wrong for the money power acoustik has decent amps but they are overrated. I personally like the hifonics/crunch line-up for the money. I'd rather get a 2 channel amp to run 500 watts rms to each voice coil at 4 ohms as the sound would be cleaner.

How do you feel about a Rockford 25-Life limited Power 1000 amp?

I am leaning towards the Rockford 25-Life limited edition power 1000 5 channel amp to run 2 10" subs, front 5x7 components, and a set of rear 5x7s. Would this be a great amp for this, (Ford F-150 supercab 2004). Would another amp be better?

yes great amp. i recommend this amp to some on this site already. ubid has the amp for 479. with 25 dollars shipping. yes its a great choice in amp. i hope you get it. as far as watts and power not to many come close to the power rating of the fosgate amp.

no i think its a good amp plus im pretty sure you want to save space its good especially on a truck

How can i get the most power out of my rockford Fosgate P3's?

I have a sony 1200w 2 channel amp and 2 12" Rockford Fosgate P3's 4 Ohm. I have them ran in stero right now and im only getting about 200w of RMS power to each sub. I was just wondering if there was any way to get any more power from this amp.?

Bridge the subs and also subs are better set in mono not sterio if you have that option. You should have the manual and that should show you the wiring diagram to bridge the subs. I dont like sony amps anyway but I hope that I have helped you.

What is a good amp to power Two Rockford p3s?

They are 4ohm 12", and the guy said i should buy an amp that is at least 1500 watts. i was looking at like the t1000 rockford amp, but i dont want to make the same mistake (going visonik)..if someone can answer this asap that would be great. Thanks

HIFONICS

For a good high end amp, I would reccomend Zapco. They are very reliable, strong amps. A little pricey, but worth every penny. At Zapco.com you can search for authorized dealers by state that you live in. Check it out!

you could go with a clarion dpx11500, its a good amp and its not that expensive. But if you are gonna run more than 1000watts be sure to upgrade you alternator to a high output one, and at least 1/0 gauge power and ground wires and a deep cycle battery

Soundblastfonic 4000

JL Audio 1000/1

400 watts RMS each
800 watts max each
they are CEA compliant so i would recommend something with about 800 watts RMS 1500 watts max and is also CEA compliant

can i use some car audio power cable for example like some 0 awg rockford power cable to upgrade my big 3?

its for a 2000 lincoln navigator.

Yes you can.

what is a web site where ii can buy rockford fosgate power hx2 subs ? ?

i wanna buy rockford fosgate power hx2 subs. can any one tell me where i can go to find them? thanks

what is the best sound system jl audio, rockford fosgate, power acoustic?

what is the best sound system jl audio, rockford fosgate, power acoustic? i need to buy a sound system for an suv that make the suv shake. Can you tell me?

JL is overpriced for the results it gives, Rockford is a good company they used to be going downhill but have really stepped up the past few years, especially their amps. Power Acoustic is alright, nothing special though. It depends on what you are trying to achieve with a system, if you are looking for just pure bass (spl) I would look into www.reaudio.com , if you are looking for more of a sound quality type of bass (sounds good) Look into Diamond Audio. For amps look at Hifonics, very good amps for the buck. If you have any other questions feel free to email me at munkyhead2_16@yahoo.com Let me know a budget and I will see what I can come up with.

if i power a t10001bd Rockford Fosgate to 12" w7 will my lights dim? if so should i buy a kenitic battery? and what does redo big 3 to 0 gauge mean? i have no clue

Upgrading your battery will do nothing for your system unless you like listening to your music with the engine off. Your alternator is what runs your electrical system after the battery starts it up when the engine is running. Performing a "Big 3" upgrade on your vehicle is one way to improve the electrical system performance and its ability to supply power to your audio system. This upgrade will help any vehicle using an after-market system, and should definetly be performed on any vehicle after a high-output alternator is installed. But it can be installed without upgrading the alt. So depending on your stock electrical system in your car, your lights may dim or they might not. It all depends on how many amps your alt is. But to be safe I'd upgrade the big 3 first (look it up on google) because it's very cheap. If you're still not satisfied and have a couple of hundred to spend then go out and buy a high output alternator.

I need a cheap but good amp to power a Rockford Stage 3 12" dual ohm sub?

It is a Rockford Punch P312D2 12 inch dual ohm subwoofer. I got it from my brother but I don't know amps well. The sub has rms of 500 watts and a peak of 1000 watts. I need a cheap but nice amp to power just the sub. Also, will I need a capacitor for this or no.
I need a cheap amp, any ideas? Do i need a mono amp or multi channel amp? I am using it strictly to power the sub. Do I need a capacitor. What's the difference between 2 ohms and 4 ohms? I need hlep badly!!
So if i were to get a fosgate amp for this sub, what model would work best, regardless of the price.

The word cheap should never be used when considering amps. Trust me on this one, I've seen my share of cheap amps and even amps that weren't so cheap, be outperformed by quality amps. However if you want an amp that's not gonna really break the bank then consider these two: Power Acoustik TS980-2 and Sony XM2002GTR. Both a steal at around 170-200 bucks. Good power good sound. I've done installs with both and they've never let me down. Both companies make a good entry level amp and you'd be suprised at what they can do. Both are 2-channel amps so you will have to wire the sub in series and then bridge the amp. (Go to Fosgates website, click on support and then wiringwizard, enter in the quan and model and it will show you, you need a 4 ohm load). One of these would be your best bet, any cheaper or smaller and you could do some damage to your sub or the amp or both. But if you wanna dish out a little more then by all means upgrade (MTX, Kicker, Fosgate, Memphis, Eclipse, Precision Power, Audiobahn - all great amp manufacturers).

Monterrey Foils Wave Again In Milwaukee, 18-10 OurSports Central (press release)
MILWAUKEE (Jan. 10, 2010) - For the second time this season, La Raza de Monterrey have handed the Milwaukee Wave a difficult defeat in their own building, winning 18-10 on Sunday to knock the Wave out of first place alone.

One night after a stirring comeback victory in Baltimore, the Wave were outscored 14-4 in the second half and fell to 5-3, even with the Blast atop the MISL standings.

"To compete for a championship, we're going to have to be able to play back-to-back games," said Wave forward Giuliano Oliviero, who finished with a goal and two assists. "We're going to be doing that the whole month of January."

Milwaukee took a 6-4 lead with a pair of power play goals in the final minute of the second quarter. Oliviero converted a shootout by pushing the ball off the right end boards and tapping in the rebound with 58 seconds left. He then set up Marco Terminesi with just nine seconds left after Angel Hernandez was called for tripping.

Chile Farias gave Monterrey the lead back with a 3-pointer, and after Ryan Mack provided the Wave their last lead on his first goal with the Wave, Jorge Duran extended the lead after the Wave misplayed a ball in their own end.

Victor Quiroz with a 2-pointer and Farias again on a 3-pointer made it 16-8.

Monterrey's Byron Alvarez received a red card with 7:46 to go, and the Wave brought out the sixth attacker for a 6-on-4 power play, but were unable to generate a serious shot on goal. Each team picked up a goal late for the final margin.

"Our legs were somewhat tired, but that's no excuse," said Wave coach Keith Tozer. "Some of our players had really bad outings today."

Monterrey and Milwaukee each have won both games on the other team's field. They play twice more this season, once in each place.

The Wave play back-to-back games next Saturday and Sunday with the Rockford Rampage. Saturday's game is at 7 p.m. in Rockford, and a fan bus is slated to make the trip. Tickets are just $30 and available by calling 414-224-9283.

Sunday's game at the U.S. Cellular Arena kicks off at 2 p.m. It's Faith and Family Day, and following the game enjoy a postgame concert on the field by Grammy nominee Matthew West. Call 224-9283 for tickets or visit Ticketmaster.com.

Minor League Games Today OurSports Central (press release)
Philadelphia - Philadelphia KiXX fans waited a long time for their team to return to the City of Brotherly Love, and they were treated to one of the most entertaining games of indoor soccer that can be played. The KiXX (2-5) eventually persevered in a hard-fought contest to pull out a 23-20 victory over the Rockford Rampage (3-3) in their first-ever home match at Liacouras Center, with three separate hat tricks coming from Anthony Maher, Adauto Neto (four goals) and Pat Morris.

Rockford struck first in this match-up, 2-0, with midfielder Semir Mesanovic making the most of a restart opportunity at 1:41 of the opening frame. A mere nine seconds later, Maher scored a Neto feed, but the Rampage retaliated at 3:15 on an unassisted knock by defender Chris Brisson to make it 4-2. Maher then equalized the count, 4-4, when he tallied a solo strike at 4:53, but Rockford regained the lead at 9:42 on a Bato Radoncic to Mesanovic notch.

After the Mesanovic go-ahead score, the game was again evened up at 13:08, and once again it was off the foot of Maher, with Morris registering the assist. The goal made it a first quarter hat trick for the Cape May, New Jersey, native, and it was his second hat trick in two consecutive games (five goals in two quarters). Riding off that momentum, the KiXX then acquired their first lead of the night, 8-6, when midfielder Sandre Naumoski scored an unassisted power play tally with three seconds left in the period.

At 1:58 of the second quarter, the Rampage equalized on a two-point goal by midfielder Geison Moura, and their next shot at points came on a shootout opportunity by forward John DeVae. After putting the ball into motion, his ensuing shot sailed off the wall, and the count remained even at eight each. That tally would stand until 49 seconds were left in the opening half when Morris pounded home a Ricardinho pass to send Philadelphia into intermission with a 10-8 advantage.

Rockford opened up the third frame with a couple of quick scores to gain a 12-10 edge, but Morris answered with his second goal of the night at 12:30 to level it at 12 apiece. After another four-point run by the Rampage, Neto took a Naumoski feed and weaved his way through traffic before slipping a shot past Rockford goalkeeper Danny Waltman at 8:16. The playmaking Brazilian made another deceptive run the following minute to put a hard-struck triple into the back of the net at 7:40, and the KiXX took a 19-16 lead at 10:06 after he completed a third quarter hat trick off a throw from Sanaldo.

Neto continued his amazing run in the fourth stanza, scoring a fourth straight goal (nine unanswered points) off a feed from Ricardinho. The tally, which was the third on four Philadelphia power play opportunities on the night, gave the KiXX a five-point advantage, 21-16. Things got much closer during the final minutes, 21-18, after Rockford midfielder Matthew Stewart finished an Ibrahim Kante feed for a two-pointer and Waltman was pulled in favor of Fabinho as the sixth attacker. With 18 seconds left in the game, Morris put his own piece of history into the already historical night, knocking in the 175th goal of his career and giving him a hat trick on the night. Rampage midfielder Jamar Beasley would make the count a bit closer with a notch four ticks later, but the KiXX held on to win the thrilling home opener, 23-20.

Tonight was the first game in a home-and-home weekend series between these two clubs, with Philadelphia heading to Rockford on Sunday to play the Rampage at 6:05 p.m. That game can be viewed live online via B2 Networks.

The next home match at the Liacouras Center is on Saturday, January 23rd, when the KiXX will host Rockford. Tickets for that contest are available now by calling 1-888-888-KiXX or logging onto www.ComcastTix.com.

WREX.com – Rockford's News Leader911 dispatchers must be certified in CPR WREX-TV

By Katie Nilsson

ROCKFORD (WREX) -  A 911 dispatcher from Texas makes national news, for not knowing how to do CPR.  According to the Today show, a child died because of it.

Winnebago County and City of Rockford dispatchers go through the same training.  They also spend nine to 12 months doing on the job training under the watchful eye of their supervisor before they're allowed to take calls on their own.  The first role of any 911 emergency dispatcher is usually to calm down the person calling.  That allows them to get information like their address, and try to figure out the reason for the call.  In this case, someone is choking. The operator uses their Power Phone training to talk the caller through the emergency.

From 911 Call: "You need to place the heel of your hand against her stomach in the middle just above her belly button..."

"It's very tedious to deal with someone in a situation like that, but they don't get to be a telecommunicator unless they pass that training," says Rockford Fire Chief Derek Bergsten.

In addition to going through emergency medical dispatch training, operators have to be certified in CPR. They also go through different kinds of emergency training on a monthly basis.  Dispatchers have to transfer those skills to people who call.  "Walking somebody though if somebody's choking the steps to take if somebody's not trained in how to do CPR to walk them through the procedure as to how to administer CPR to someone," says Winnebago County Sheriff's Deputy Chief Brad Fitz.

From 911 Call: "She's talking now, okay did you get it out? Yes!"

Chief Bergsten says in an emergency, every second counts. "Time is tissue, and that tissue refers to brain tissue that's dying and if it's a heart attack it's heart tissue that's dying. The longer that person's without oxygen or have blood circulate the less chance they have for survival.

911 operators in the city handled about 120,000 calls in 2009.  Winnebago County had almost 48,600.  Illinois really doesn't have any requirements for 911 operator training, but the method used by the city and county is approved by all three Rockford hospitals as well as the Illinois Department of Public Health.
