How can I mount a portable DVD player to my car headrest without using one of the DVD bags?

I know they have these non slip surfaces that you can put anywhere on your car. It makes anything stay in place. MIne is on my dash but you can try it behindyour seat.

What is the strap called that is used to hold a portable dvd player on the headrest in a car?

Is there a "technical" term - because I can't seem to find one online and when I ask if stores the clerks look at me like I'm crazy.
Thanks! We just bought one and because the strap was missing we were able to get it for about $110 [for dual screens] but our kids are so young they drop it more than they watch it. =]

Tether strap or an adjustable velcro strap.

I have the dual screens in my minivan for my 2 and 5 yr olds, best investment.

HEADREST DVD PLAYER for my car???

So, I need to get two 7'' DVD players inserted into the back of two headrests. I've only been able to find monitors meaning they don't have the DVD players with them. My question is... Where can I get them???

Serious answers only please.

Thanks in advance.
DEFINATELY, not a mom yet. Just want to trick out my car.

well is this just vanity or are you a mother of kids going out on a family vacation?

b/c if its just vanity to make your car look good or if its just for friends than the answer is its a waste of money...you might as well buy a portable dvd player and buy a strap or harness to attach it in between the two seats...dont forget to buy a converter adaptor as it might run out of battery.

you can check autoshops such as Pepboys , ACE, or Autozone....but if they dont have them in these places you can GOOGLE it and find related sites that may sell them...or better yet check any local audio/digital car shops that would be inclined to sell audio appliances and/or automobile entertainment devices.

walmart might sell them but u will have to liek cut a hole in the seat maybe

What do you call a dvd player that "hangs" on the back of the headrest in a car without installation?

Any idea where I could buy one?

Portable DVD player. I bought one at Walmart.

Portable 12vdc dvd player

its called a portable dvd player

you can buy one for cheap at costco or online

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002472X2/metafilter-20/ref=nosim/

there are also dvd players that are built into the headrest, a bit more expensive though

How do I fix a portable DVD player onto a rental car? Can I?

I am trying to decide if I should buy an audiovox dvd player (D1817PK) for a road trip that I am doing with our son who will be 20 months old when we travel. Can I just strap it around the front headrest? Else, should I expect him to hold it?

The best thing to do is strap it because your son may not be able to hold it right and the DVD player might end up falling and possibly breaking.

Average pricing for a DVD player in the car ?

My BF wants a new sound system and a DVD player in his Camaro for Christmas. I don't know ANYTHING about this stuff.... He wants a screen in his dash and maybe 2 on the back of the headrests. Anyone bought this type of stuff before know what prices should look like?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a dual screen portable dvd player for the car?

I am especially interested in 1) sound quality 2) screen quality and 3) ease with which dvds can be changed/loaded while driving. This is for two kids in backseat so it would need a headrest harness.

There are lots of models out there, and usually very cheap.

Might I suggest getting a model that allows for input and output and not strictly for the Car. You'll need a coupler but will be able to use these elsewhere and have the ability to have games systems or two different movies on them, but this will be a question as far as age ( since these will not have a headrest harness per say). You will need to look at good headphones or a RF modulator or mini cable or tape adapter (depending on the car).

If you gave just a little more detail i would feel better about a recommendation.

What is a good portable DVD Player for the car?

I need one that will connect to the headrest as it is for a small child.

Where can I get a portable DVD player for a car?

I'm looking for something that goes over the headrest, hopefully something that comes with two screens. Stores/brands are appreciated!

I THINK YOU SHOULD TRY WALMART OR SOME KIND OF DEPARTMENT STORE OR ELECTRONICS STORE LIKE BEST BUY

Reliable tablet style portable DVD player with safe in-car mounting?

Ok, I'm stumped. I am looking for a portable DVD player. I like the tablet style so it doesn't have to sit like an "L" to be played on the back of the headrest in my car. I am also looking for a safe mounting option for it. These belts and buckles included in the portable carrying cases just don't look safe. I am going to be using it for my daughter and am worried that if I were to get in an accident it could possibly come loose and strike her. Perhaps it's a slim chance but still possible.

Does anyone have any ideas? Every portable DVD player I look at has flaky reviews and I can't find one of those "pouch style" headrest mounts (looks like a headrest cover) that will fit a tablet style portable DVD player. Help!
Thanks!

moving entertainment

Just recently, me and my sister Faith were talking about movies. We both love watching movies and series. But I told her that it would be fun to watch movies while on the road on our way to vacation especially in long driving. And then we thought about Car DVD Players.

The idea of Car DVD Player is sooooo awesome! Instant entertainment and boring-free during long drive. Yea, the last time I had a long drive vacation, it really bores me and most part of the freeway doesn’t have cellphone reception. The coolness of watching DVD while on the road is appealing.

While browsing the net to look for a perfect Car DVD Player for me and for my car, I found out that there’s a lot of different kinds of player with different specifications and of course, prices. There’s Car DVD Player for backseat passengers, Portable DVD Player, Headrest Replacement Monitor and Headrest DVD Monitor. And of course, I’m checking on the durability and lifespan of the product.

I can’t wait to get a hold of my very own Car DVD Player. :D
